The All American Rejects

Dilly Gent, the creative director / producer / mastermind behind the majority of Radiohead’s music videos, enlisted me to create a new logo that would help shift public perception of The All American Rejects from teen pop-punk heartthrobs to edgier, mature artists. A rebrand for a rock band.

After executing several scrawly options, I put on my best Pablo Ferro hat for something a little more restrained, almost classy, but retaining a hand-drawn edge. Something airy that would let the surface below it shine through.

The band latched onto this new direction, and used it across videos, merchandising, and stage design to support the release of the Sweat EP.
